Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), following its initiative to establish its Subsidiaries’ Innovation Network, announces its participation in a consortium of leading partners from the research and academic community, the private and public sector and the local government for the establishment of a Digital Innovation Hub of the Attica Region. Following best practices, the Digital Innovation Hub aims to implement advanced solutions for the private and public sector modernization, in an energy efficient way and in line with the industry 4.0 trend. The promotion of added value services, the reinforcement of digital technologies’ utilization by consumers, as well as the connection of innovation with modern entrepreneurship are among HCAP’s goals.
The Digital Innovation Hub presents unique opportunities for HCAP’s enterprises and the economic sectors in which they are active, not only in the development of fundamental digital infrastructure (for instance for management of business data) but also for advanced automation capabilities. It is expected to to enable the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence technologies in industrial, administrative and business operations through small-scale testing or simulation and to provide advanced technical infrastructure and expertise in the fields of Energy and Environment, Supply Chain and Mobility, Culture and Tourism.
In the Hub’s operational context, which is planned to implement a smart region for Attica by extending the smart city approach, HCAP undertakes:
- The representation of its subsidiaries and their interface with the innovation ecosystem at regional, national and European level;
- The participation in the design and in the pilot implementation of ‘test before invest’ activities in fields such as the provision of electricity/water/sewerage services, transport and mobility, exhibitions and conferences, food parks, real estate development;
- Actions for trainings and digital skills’ enhancement;
- The provision of consulting services on the sources and ways of attracting investments to the Hub’s beneficiaries.
In this regard, HCAP’S CEO, Ms. Rania Ekaterinari, stated:
